History

A little history 地区のなりたち

Higashi-Takasu Town joined Asahikawa on 2 March 1971. It was the last of the mergers that, from 1955, made the city more than 17 times larger.[4][1][3]

It takes in the Chikabumi upland and Tosshōzan, a hill with one of Japan’s largest colonies of katakuri lilies. Chikabumi has an Ainu name too: Chikap-ni.[4][13]
