Ueno Farm is one of the gardens on the Hokkaido Garden Route.[4]
Shūjitsu Hill looks out over the Daisetsuzan range, the mountains the Ainu call Kamuy-mintar, “garden of the gods”.[4][20]
Snowmelt from those mountains soaks into the ground and comes back up as springs that water the rice paddies and the sake breweries.[18][19]
