The city museum is inside Taisetsu Crystal Hall, close to the roadside station. The Hokkaido Government’s Ainu culture guide lists it as one of its Ainu culture facilities.[36][8][71]
Its treasures include the manuscript notebooks of Chiri Yukie, the young Ainu writer of Ainu Shin’yōshū, and a warabite-tō, an early curved sword. Both are city-designated cultural properties.[4][37]
The museum put up the city’s first Ainu place-name sign in 2003. It runs the Denshō no Kotan in Arashiyama Park and organizes the Ainu Culture Festival in September (19–22 September in 2026).[13][39][36]
