Tosshōzan is a hill on Asahikawa’s northern edge, home to one of Japan’s largest colonies of katakuri, a small purple lily that blooms in spring.[4]

It is in Higashi-Takasu, the northern district, which joined the city in 1971 as the last of the mergers.[4][13][1]
